Play
Play is a Mac app for writing songs with an AI agent, on the Audio Unit instruments you've installed. Describe the song. Your agent writes the parts and finds a sound for each one among your Arturia presets and Logic's sampler instruments. Play sends every part to its own output channel, ready to record as a separate track on your mixer or interface.
Play is coming soon to the Mac App Store.

Arranged with your agent
A song in Play is a single document holding the tempo, the sections, the chords and every part. Your agent writes a phrase once as a pattern and repeats it across the form. Parts written as chord tones follow the chords bar by bar. Play keeps a version of the song at every edit.
Render before tape
Play renders a song offline, faster than real time. The report gives each part's peak and level, flags notes that made no sound and names parts crowding the same band.
Markers in Bias
When Play performs a song, each section start goes to Bias as a marker. The tape then carries the form.
Pads
A grid of up to 24 by 24 pads holds Apple Loops or your own audio files. Each loop stretches to the tempo and starts on the next bar line.
What's in it
Instrument host
Instruments load in a process of their own. When a plugin hangs or crashes, Play restarts the engine while the window stays open.
Sound search
Search sounds by words such as warm, dark or evolving, and rule words out with a minus sign. For an unfamiliar drum kit, Play renders every key and reports where its energy sits and how long it rings.
Sequencer
Every part shows as a lane of the notes the engine plays, with the sections ruled and the playhead moving. Click any bar to start playback there.
Mute and solo
Mute or solo a part while the song plays. Muted instruments keep running and come back in without a click.
Plugin catalog
Play lists every Audio Unit and VST3 plugin installed on the Mac.
MCP server
Claude or another AI agent works through Play's MCP server, which accepts connections from your own Mac only. The play command runs the same tools from a shell.
